Wedding guestbooks are becoming very old fashioned and creative alternative "guest book" projects are now becoming the pereference for the 2009 brides. Yes, you want to keep a record of those who celebrated with you or maybe to send out heart felt thank you notes, but are their options that will allow you to collect this information accurately and creatively???? {You don't have to have guest book to collect information to send out thank you notes... just use the labels from the gifts and the address list that you used to send send out your invitations}. So with that being said...the answer is yes, there are other options and I want to present to you Option #1.....
Wishing Tree/ Guest Tree
The Wish Tree is a Dutch wedding custom where guests are given a piece of paper, either shaped like a leaf or made of card stock. The guests write their wishes to the bride and groom and then hang it on the tree.
This idea combines the idea of a guest book and a "best wishes" guest area. A Wishing Tree is a potted, "indoor" tree that will feature paper "ornaments" which contain guest’s best wishes to the couple. I love this idea of all that you have posted. I am having one of these at my reception, which is at night and will be surrounded by candles so I hope it gives it a romantic glow!!! Thanks for sharing! i hadnt thought of the paper being shaped like leaves. But since mine is in the spring, maybe I can shape them like flowers.
